Possible Causes
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Turn off power at the breaker before accessing the rear of the oven or control panel.
Steps:
- Access the sensor connector from the rear of the oven or from inside the cavity, depending on model.
- Ensure the connector is fully seated on both the sensor and the control board side. Reseat if loose.
- Measure resistance across the sensor at the control board connector. If the reading is infinite (open), trace back to the sensor to locate the break.
- Replace the oven temperature sensor if it is open. If the sensor and harness are intact but the board still reads open, replace the EOC.
When to seek help: If the oven is built-in and difficult to remove, or if you are not comfortable working around sharp metal edges, contact a professional installer or technician.
