How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Disconnect power before servicing. Use insulated gloves when handling metal parts.
Steps:
- Inspect the lower bake element for visible damage such as cracks, breaks, or burn spots.
- Remove the element mounting screws and pull the element forward to access the rear terminals.
- Disconnect the wires and test resistance across the element. A typical Viking bake element reads 15–40 Ω. Replace if open.
- Check the wiring harness for signs of overheating or loose spade connectors; repair as needed.
- Locate any inline thermal cutoff or high-limit thermostat in the bake circuit (often on the rear panel). Test for continuity; replace if open.
- If all components are good, the EOC bake relay may be defective and the control board should be replaced.
