Possible Causes
Loose ribbon cable between touchpad and EOC, Damaged touchpad membrane, Failed user interface board, Failed EOC communication circuit
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Disconnect power before removing the control panel or touching any wiring.
Steps:
- Remove the control panel bezel according to the service manual (usually screws under trim or behind knobs).
- Locate the flat ribbon cable connecting the keypad/touchpad to the EOC. Carefully unplug and re-seat the connector to clean contacts.
- Inspect the ribbon for cracks, kinks, or burn marks. Replace the keypad or user interface assembly if damaged.
- If re-seating does not resolve the error, replace the keypad assembly. If a new keypad does not fix the issue, replace the EOC.
Note: Handle ribbon cables gently and avoid bending sharply; damage can cause intermittent faults.
