Possible Causes
Door not fully closed or misaligned, Faulty door lock switch, Over-temperature sensor fault during clean, EOC self-clean logic failure
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Do not attempt self-clean if the oven has existing component damage or heavy grease buildup; risk of fire.
Steps:
- Verify the oven door closes fully and the gasket is intact. Adjust hinges if the door is sagging.
- Start a normal bake cycle and confirm that the door lock does not attempt to engage. Then cancel and start a self-clean to see if the lock engages.
- If the lock does not move, test the door lock motor and switch as in F13. Replace the lock assembly if defective.
- Check the oven temperature sensor for proper resistance; a faulty sensor can prevent self-clean from starting.
- If mechanical and sensor components are good, the EOC may have a self-clean logic fault and should be replaced.
