Possible Causes

Partially failed bake element, One leg of power open to element, Loose element terminal, Failing relay on EOC causing intermittent power

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Disconnect power before removing elements or panels.

Steps:

  • Visually inspect bake and broil elements for hot spots, blisters, or small cracks. Replace any suspect element.
  • Test resistance of the bake element and compare to specifications. A significantly higher resistance than normal can reduce heating output.
  • Inspect and tighten element terminal connections at the rear of the oven.
  • If elements and wiring are good, the EOC relay contacts may be pitted and not delivering full power; replace the EOC.
