Possible Causes
Open oven temperature sensor (RTD), Broken sensor wiring harness, Loose sensor connector at control board, Corroded sensor plug at rear of oven cavity
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power at the breaker before testing or replacing components.
- Access sensor: Locate the oven temperature sensor on the rear interior wall of the oven cavity. Remove the mounting screws and gently pull the sensor forward to access the connector.
- Check connections: Inspect the sensor connector for corrosion or loose pins. Reseat the connector firmly.
- Measure resistance: With the sensor unplugged, measure resistance across the sensor terminals. At room temperature, expect ~1080–1100 Ω. If the reading is infinite (open) or far out of range, replace the sensor.
- Check harness to control: If the sensor is good, check continuity from the sensor connector to the control board connector using a multimeter. Repair any open wires or replace the harness.
- Replace control if needed: If sensor and wiring are good but F3 persists, replace the electronic oven control board.
