Possible Causes
Failed convection fan motor, Obstructed convection fan blade, Open or shorted convection fan wiring, Faulty control output to fan
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power before accessing the rear panel or fan assembly.
- Listen for fan: In convection mode, you should hear the convection fan running. If not, suspect the fan motor or power to it.
- Access fan: Remove the oven racks and rear interior panel to expose the convection fan. Check for obstructions (foil, food debris) preventing rotation.
- Spin test: With power OFF, spin the fan blade by hand. It should move freely. If stiff or seized, replace the convection fan motor.
- Electrical test: Check continuity of the fan motor windings and verify wiring from the control to the fan is intact. Replace the motor if open.
- Control board: If the fan motor and wiring are good but the fan never receives power, replace the electronic oven control board.
