Possible Causes
Recent power outage or brownout, Loose power cord or terminal block connection, Tripping breaker, Faulty outlet or supply wiring
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: If you smell burning or see sparks, turn off the breaker immediately.
- Confirm outage: If other appliances or lights also reset, PF is likely due to a utility power interruption. Clear the code by pressing Cancel and resetting the clock.
- Check cord and plug: For corded ranges, ensure the plug is fully inserted and not hot to the touch. If hot, have the outlet inspected.
- Inspect terminal block: Turn off power, remove the rear cover, and inspect the terminal block for loose or burned connections. Tighten or replace damaged parts.
- Monitor breaker: If PF recurs frequently without known outages, have an electrician check the circuit and breaker.
