Possible Causes
Open-circuit heating element, Loose or burnt element terminals, Faulty relay on main control board, Damaged wiring between element and PCB
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Isolate the oven from mains power before accessing any internal components.
Step-by-step checks:
- 1. Identify which function fails: Test conventional, fan, and grill modes. Note which mode triggers F04 or fails to heat; this helps identify the specific element.
- 2. Inspect elements: Remove the rear panel and visually inspect the top (grill), bottom, and circular fan element (if fitted). Look for breaks, bulges, or burn marks.
- 3. Test element resistance: Disconnect each suspect element and measure resistance. Typical values are 20–60 Ω depending on wattage. An open circuit indicates a failed element.
- 4. Check wiring and terminals: Ensure spade connectors are tight and not heat-damaged. Replace any burnt connectors and trim back damaged wire, fitting new high-temperature terminals.
- 5. Check PCB relays: If all elements test OK, the heating relay on the main PCB may be faulty. Look for burnt contacts or cracked solder joints. Replace the main control board if the relay is defective.
Warning: Use only high-temperature rated cable and terminals when repairing element wiring.
