Possible Causes
Open-circuit circular fan element, Burnt element terminals, Loose wiring to fan element, Faulty fan element relay on PCB
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect the oven from mains power before removing the back panel or inner covers.
Step-by-step checks:
- 1. Access fan element: Remove the oven shelves and rear inner panel inside the cavity to expose the circular fan element around the convection fan.
- 2. Visual inspection: Look for cracks, hot spots, or burn marks on the element ring. Check that the mounting screws are secure.
- 3. Test resistance: From the rear of the oven, disconnect the two wires to the fan element and measure resistance. An open circuit means the element has failed and must be replaced.
- 4. Replace fan element: Unscrew the element from inside the cavity, carefully pull it forward, and transfer wires from the old element to the new Zanussi fan oven element. Avoid letting wires fall back into the cavity.
- 5. Check fan operation: While inside the cavity, spin the fan blade by hand to ensure it turns freely. A stiff fan can overheat the element.
Warning: Ensure the new element is correctly seated and not touching the cavity walls to prevent arcing.
