Possible Causes
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Isolate the oven from mains power. Sharp metal edges are present; wear cut-resistant gloves.
Step-by-step checks:
- 1. Check fan movement: Remove the oven shelves and rear inner panel. Spin the fan blade by hand. It should rotate freely without grinding noises.
- 2. Inspect for obstructions: Remove any loose screws, foil, or debris caught in the fan blades.
- 3. Access fan motor: From the rear of the oven, remove the cover over the fan motor. Inspect wiring and connectors for heat damage.
- 4. Test motor winding: Disconnect the motor and measure resistance across the terminals. An open circuit or very high resistance indicates a failed motor.
- 5. Replace fan motor: Unscrew the motor mounting screws, remove the fan blade (usually held by a nut from inside the cavity), and fit a new Zanussi convection fan motor. Refit the blade and ensure it is centered.
- 6. Check PCB drive: If the motor is good but does not receive power, the control board output may be faulty and require replacement.
Warning: Do not lubricate sealed fan motors; they are not designed to be serviced and should be replaced if noisy or stiff.
