Possible Causes

Failed low-voltage power supply on PCB, Blown track or fuse on control board, Shorted component drawing down supply, Loose neutral or live connection to PCB

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Disconnect mains power. The control board contains live and high-voltage components; only competent persons should work on it.

Step-by-step checks:

  • 1. Inspect mains connections: Check the terminal block and wiring to the control board for loose or burnt connections. Tighten and repair as needed.
  • 2. Visual inspection of PCB: Remove the control panel and inspect the board for burnt areas, cracked solder joints, or a blown onboard fuse (if fitted).
  • 3. Check for shorted loads: Disconnect non-essential loads (lamp, auxiliary relays) one at a time and see if F08 clears when powered (qualified persons only). A shorted lamp holder or wiring can drag down the supply.
  • 4. Replace control board: If the low-voltage section is visibly damaged or no 5V/12V output is present (tested by a professional), replace the entire Zanussi control board.

Warning: Component-level repair of switch-mode power supplies is not recommended for untrained users due to shock risk.
