Possible Causes

Faulty touch control panel or keypad, Damaged ribbon cable between UI and main PCB, Corroded or loose connector, Faulty UI processor on control board

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Turn off power at the mains before removing the control panel or glass fascia.

Step-by-step checks:

  • 1. Power reset: Leave the oven disconnected for 5–10 minutes to allow capacitors to discharge, then reconnect. Sometimes F09 clears after a full reset.
  • 2. Inspect ribbon cable: Remove the control panel and check the flat ribbon cable between the display/keypad and the main PCB. Ensure it is fully inserted and not kinked or damaged.
  • 3. Clean connectors: Gently clean the ribbon contacts with isopropyl alcohol and reinsert firmly.
  • 4. Check for moisture: Look for signs of steam ingress behind the glass panel. If moisture is present, dry the area thoroughly and check that the door seal is intact.
  • 5. Replace UI module: If certain buttons never respond or F09 persists, replace the Zanussi touch control / user interface module as a complete assembly.
  • 6. Replace main PCB if needed: If a new UI does not resolve the issue, the main control board may have a communication fault and require replacement.

Warning: Glass control panels can crack easily; support them properly when removed.
