Possible Causes
Shorted thermostat contacts, Temperature sensor reading too low, Sensor not properly fixed to cavity, Stuck heating relay on PCB
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off power and allow the oven to cool before inspection.
Step-by-step checks:
- 1. Confirm with thermometer: Use an oven thermometer to compare actual temperature to the set value. If it is consistently high, regulation is faulty.
- 2. Inspect sensor position: Ensure the NTC sensor probe is correctly mounted and not touching an element directly.
- 3. Test sensor resistance: Measure resistance at room temperature and at a known elevated temperature (if possible). Replace if readings are out of specification.
- 4. Check thermostat (analogue): Test mechanical thermostat contacts for sticking. Replace if they do not open when heated.
- 5. Inspect PCB relay: If the heating relay contacts are welded closed, the oven will continue heating. Replace the main control board.
Warning: Do not continue using an oven that overheats; this is a fire risk and can damage cabinets.
