Possible Causes

Disconnected or failed oven temperature sensor, Shorted or open sensor wiring, Incorrect sensor type installed, Faulty sensor input on control board

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Disconnect power at the breaker before accessing internal wiring.

  • Step 1 – Confirm model and sensor: Verify that the installed temperature sensor matches the Zline part specified for your model. Using a non-compatible sensor can trigger E1.
  • Step 2 – Inspect sensor connection: Inside the oven, remove the sensor mounting screws and gently pull the sensor forward. Ensure the connector is fully seated and not corroded.
  • Step 3 – Measure resistance: With the sensor unplugged and oven unpowered, measure resistance across the sensor. Compare to Zline specifications (typically ~1080–1100 Ω at room temperature). Replace if open, shorted, or out of range.
  • Step 4 – Check harness to control: Inspect the wiring from the sensor to the control board for damage, pinched sections, or signs of overheating.
  • Step 5 – Replace control if needed: If the sensor and wiring are good, the control board’s sensor circuit may be defective. Replace the electronic oven control board.

Tip: Clear the error by disconnecting power for several minutes after replacing the sensor or control.
