Possible Causes
Corrupted control board memory, Incorrect control board installed, Power surge damage, Failed microcontroller on control board
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power at the breaker before accessing the control board.
- Step 1 – Power reset: Turn the breaker OFF for 10–15 minutes to fully discharge the control. Restore power and check if E3 returns.
- Step 2 – Verify part number: If the control board was recently replaced, confirm that the installed board matches the exact Zline part number for your model and configuration.
- Step 3 – Inspect control board: Remove the control panel cover and inspect the board for visible damage, burnt components, or corrosion.
- Step 4 – Replace control board: If E3 persists after a reset and the board appears damaged or is known to be incorrect, replace the electronic oven control board. Some models may require configuration or programming; follow Zline service instructions.
Note: E3 errors are rarely caused by external wiring; they almost always indicate a control board issue.
