Possible Causes
Failed convection fan motor, Obstructed convection fan blade, Faulty fan relay on control board, Damaged wiring to convection fan
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off power and allow the oven to cool before accessing the rear or interior fan area.
- Step 1 – Listen for convection fan: When a convection mode is selected, you should hear the convection fan start. If not, suspect a fan or relay issue.
- Step 2 – Inspect fan blade: Remove the interior fan cover (inside the oven) and check for food debris or screws obstructing the fan. Spin the blade by hand; it should move freely.
- Step 3 – Access rear of fan: From the back of the oven (with power OFF), locate the convection fan motor. Inspect wiring and connectors for damage or burns.
- Step 4 – Test motor: With a multimeter, check continuity of the fan motor. An open motor indicates it must be replaced.
- Step 5 – Replace faulty parts: Replace the convection fan motor if seized or open. If the motor is good but never receives power, the control board’s fan relay may be defective and the control board should be replaced.
Tip: After replacing the fan, ensure the fan cover is reinstalled correctly to avoid noise and airflow issues.
