Possible Causes
Faulty door switch, Misaligned door or hinges, Broken latch receiver, Damaged wiring to door switch
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power before accessing door switches or latch components.
- Step 1 – Check door closure: Ensure the door closes fully and evenly. Look for sagging hinges or bent door frame.
- Step 2 – Inspect latch and strike: Examine the latch hook on the door and the strike/receiver on the oven frame. Replace any visibly damaged parts.
- Step 3 – Test door switch: Locate the door switch (often near the top or side of the frame). With power OFF, remove the switch and test continuity while pressing and releasing the actuator. Replace if it does not change state reliably.
- Step 4 – Check wiring: Inspect the harness from the door switch to the control board for breaks or loose connectors.
Note: A faulty door switch can prevent the oven from starting or cause the light to stay on continuously.
