Possible Causes
Worn touch membrane, Moisture under keypad, Loose ribbon cable, Faulty control panel assembly
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power before removing the control panel.
- Step 1 – Dry and clean: If the issue started after cleaning, allow the panel to dry thoroughly. Wipe gently with a dry cloth; do not use excessive moisture.
- Step 2 – Reseat ribbon cable: Access the back of the control panel and reseat the keypad ribbon cable on the control board.
- Step 3 – Test individual keys: After restoring power, test each key. If certain keys consistently fail, the keypad membrane is likely worn.
- Step 4 – Replace control panel: Replace the touchpad/control panel assembly with the correct Zline part.
Note: Do not puncture or peel the membrane; it is not repairable.
