Oven light stays on constantly and will not turn off even when the door is closed.

Safety first: Disconnect power before removing any panels or switches.

• Step 1 – Check door alignment: Close the door slowly and watch the door switch actuator. Ensure the door fully depresses the switch. Adjust hinges or strike if needed.
• Step 2 – Test door switch: Remove the switch from the frame and test continuity with a multimeter while pressing and releasing the actuator. Replace if it does not open and close reliably.
• Step 3 – Check control panel light button: If your model has a dedicated light button, ensure it is not stuck. Clean around the button and test operation.
• Step 4 – Inspect control board: If the switch is good and the light still stays on, the light relay on the control board may be stuck closed. Replace the control board.

Tip: As a temporary measure, you can remove the oven light bulb to prevent heat buildup, but this does not fix the underlying issue.
