Oven self-clean cycle does not start or stops prematurely without an error code.

Safety first: Ensure the oven is empty and racks are removed before attempting self-clean.

• Step 1 – Check door lock: Start a self-clean cycle and listen for the lock motor. Ensure the door locks fully. If not, inspect and adjust the latch and hinges.
• Step 2 – Door lock switch: Test the lock position switch for proper operation. Replace if it does not indicate locked/unlocked correctly.
• Step 3 – Over-temperature protection: If the oven overheats during self-clean, the high-limit thermostat may open and stop the cycle. Test and replace the thermostat if it opens at incorrect temperatures.
• Step 4 – Control logic: If hardware is good, the control board may be aborting due to internal faults. Replace the control board if self-clean consistently fails.

Note: Self-clean places extreme stress on components; use it sparingly to extend oven life.
