Possible Causes
Failing oven temperature sensor, Intermittent relay on control board, Poor door seal, Incorrect rack placement blocking airflow
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off power before testing electrical components.
- Step 1 – Use an oven thermometer: Monitor temperature over 20–30 minutes at a set point. Note swings greater than ±25°F.
- Step 2 – Inspect door gasket: Replace if worn or damaged to prevent heat loss.
- Step 3 – Test sensor: Check resistance of the oven temperature sensor at room temperature and after heating (if equipped to do so safely). Replace if readings are unstable or out of spec.
- Step 4 – Control board: If sensor and gasket are good, the control board’s relay logic may be failing. Replace the control board.
Tip: Avoid placing large pans directly against the back wall, which can disrupt airflow and sensor readings.
