Possible Causes
Pellet bridging in hopper, Auger motor intermittent, Controller timing irregular, Excess pellet dust causing clumping
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the grill before reaching into the hopper.
- Step 1 – Stir pellets: During operation, occasionally stir pellets to break up bridges.
- Step 2 – Clean hopper: Empty and vacuum pellet dust from the hopper and auger inlet.
- Step 3 – Observe auger motor: Watch the auger shaft (if visible) during operation. If it stops and starts erratically, inspect wiring and replace the auger motor if needed.
- Step 4 – Replace controller if timing is erratic: If the controller runs the auger in irregular bursts unrelated to setpoint, replace the digital controller.
