How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Operate the initial burn-off with no food on the grill and in a well-ventilated outdoor area.
- Remove all packaging: Ensure all plastic, cardboard, and manuals are removed from inside the grill and hopper.
- Perform burn-off: Run the grill at a medium-high temperature for 30–60 minutes with the lid closed to burn off residues.
- Ventilate: Stand upwind and keep people and pets away during burn-off.
- Persistent odor: If strong chemical smells persist after several burn-offs, inspect for any non-OEM materials inside or contact Broil King support.
