How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the grill and empty the hopper before working on the auger.
- Empty hopper: Remove all pellets from the hopper to prevent more from entering the auger.
- Check for jam: Access the auger tube by removing the hopper guard and any covers as per the manual. Attempt to rotate the auger shaft by hand (with power disconnected). If it is seized, there is likely a jam.
- Clear auger: Remove the auger motor from the shaft. Slide the auger out of the tube and clear any compacted or swollen pellets. Clean the tube thoroughly.
- Inspect motor and coupler: Check the auger motor output shaft and coupler for damage or a sheared pin. Replace damaged components.
- Reassemble and test: Reinstall the auger and motor, refill the hopper with dry pellets, and run a prime/feed cycle to confirm proper operation.
