Possible Causes
Faulty start button on keypad, Loose keypad ribbon cable, Controller locked in error state, Internal safety timer not reset
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Do not repeatedly cycle power rapidly; allow electronics to reset.
- Clear errors: Check the display for any stored error messages and clear them according to the manual.
- Power cycle: Turn the grill off, unplug for 2–3 minutes, then plug back in and try again.
- Test keypad: Press other buttons (temperature up/down, menu) to see if they respond. If only the start button fails, the keypad may be defective.
- Inspect ribbon cable: Unplug the grill, remove the control panel, and reseat the keypad ribbon cable on the control board.
- Replace keypad/UI: If the start button remains non-functional, replace the keypad/display assembly.
