Possible Causes
Foreign object in hopper or auger tube, Swollen pellets from moisture, Rust inside auger tube, Misaligned auger shaft
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the grill and empty the hopper before disassembly.
- Remove pellets: Scoop or vacuum pellets from the hopper until the auger intake is visible.
- Inspect for foreign objects: Look for screws, tools, or other debris that may have fallen into the hopper and lodged in the auger intake.
- Disassemble auger: Remove the auger motor and slide the auger out of the tube. Scrape out any compacted or swollen pellets and rust.
- Clean and lubricate: Lightly clean the auger shaft and tube. Do not use heavy oil; a dry lubricant suitable for food equipment is preferred if needed.
- Reassemble and test: Reinstall the auger and motor, refill with dry pellets, and run a prime cycle to confirm smooth feeding.
