Possible Causes
Hopper lid left open, High humidity and rain exposure, Storing pellets in open bags, Condensation inside hopper
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Do not attempt to run the grill with swollen or crumbling pellets; they can jam the auger.
- Remove bad pellets: Empty the hopper completely and discard any swollen or crumbly pellets.
- Clean hopper and auger intake: Vacuum out sawdust and debris. Check the auger intake for compacted material and clear it.
- Use dry storage: Store pellets in sealed containers in a dry location and keep the hopper lid closed.
- Prime with fresh pellets: Refill the hopper with fresh, dry pellets and run a prime cycle before cooking.
