Possible Causes

Protective oils on metal surfaces, Paint curing on exterior, Residual packaging materials left inside

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Perform initial burn-off with no food on the grill and with the lid open or partially open as recommended.

  • Remove packaging: Ensure all plastic, cardboard, and manuals are removed from inside the grill.
  • Clean surfaces: Wipe interior surfaces with a damp cloth to remove dust and light oils.
  • Burn-off: Run the grill at a medium-high temperature for 30–60 minutes to burn off residual oils and cure paint. Some odor is normal during this process.
  • Ventilation: Perform burn-off outdoors in a well-ventilated area away from open windows.
