Possible Causes
Failed combustion fan motor, Obstructed fan blades, Loose fan wiring harness, Faulty control board fan driver
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the grill before accessing internal components. Ensure the grill is cool.
- Listen for fan: On startup, you should hear the combustion fan spin. If it is silent or just hums, proceed to inspection.
- Inspect fan area: Remove the side or bottom access panel (depending on model). Check that the combustion fan blades are not jammed by debris, ash, or wiring.
- Check wiring: Verify the fan’s two-wire connector is firmly plugged into the control board and not burnt or loose.
- Spin test: With power OFF, gently spin the fan blades by hand. If they are stiff or seized, the fan motor is likely bad.
- Replace fan if needed: Remove mounting screws, disconnect the harness, and install a new Camp Chef-compatible combustion fan assembly. Reconnect wiring and test.
