Possible Causes
Shorted igniter rod, Shorted combustion fan, Damaged wiring harness, Power surge
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the grill before opening any electrical compartments. Use only the specified fuse rating.
- Inspect wiring: Remove the controller and access panel. Look for melted insulation, pinched wires, or bare conductors touching metal.
- Isolate components: Disconnect the igniter, fan, and auger motor one at a time and replace the fuse. Power on briefly to see if the fuse holds. The component that causes the fuse to blow when connected is likely shorted.
- Replace failed part: Replace the shorted igniter, fan, or auger motor with a Camp Chef-compatible part.
- Install new fuse: After repairs, install a new fuse of the correct amperage and test operation.
