How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: If you suspect a grease fire, keep the lid closed, turn OFF and unplug the grill. Do not open until the fire is out and the grill is cool.
- Clean grease: After cooling, remove grates and drip tray and clean all grease buildup.
- Verify temperature readings: Place a reliable oven thermometer on the grate and compare to the controller reading. A large difference suggests a bad probe.
- Inspect RTD: Clean or replace the RTD temperature probe if it is damaged or heavily coated.
- Controller replacement: If the auger continues feeding pellets even when the set temperature is exceeded, replace the main control board.
