Possible Causes
Failed combustion fan, Obstructed fan intake or exhaust, Loose fan wiring connection at control board
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the grill and allow it to cool fully before removing panels.
- Inspect fan area: Locate the combustion fan (usually behind a side or rear panel). Check for grease buildup, debris, or insect nests blocking the fan blades or intake vents.
- Check fan spin: Gently spin the fan blades by hand with power disconnected. They should rotate freely without grinding. If stiff or seized, the fan assembly needs replacement.
- Verify wiring: Confirm the fan connector is fully seated on the control board and that wires are not cut, pinched, or burned.
- Test operation: With panels temporarily in place, plug in the grill and start it while listening for the fan. If the fan does not run and ERR3 appears, replace the combustion fan.
- Clean vents: Ensure all rear and side vents on the grill body are clear to allow proper airflow.
