Possible Causes

Pellet hopper empty or bridging, Wet or poor-quality pellets, Excessive ash buildup in fire pot

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Turn the grill off and unplug it before cleaning. Allow it to cool.

  • Check pellets: Ensure the hopper is at least half full with dry, high-quality hardwood pellets. Break up any pellet bridges by stirring with a clean, dry tool.
  • Clean fire pot: Remove grates and diffuser, vacuum ash from the fire pot and surrounding area. Ash buildup can cause the fire to go out.
  • Restart properly: Follow the manufacturer’s startup procedure, including priming pellets if the fire pot is empty.
  • Wind and cold: In very cold or windy conditions, consider using an insulated blanket designed for pellet grills to maintain temperature.
