P1
Char-Griller
Low Feed Rate Program Setting
Display shows P1 and grill struggles to reach set temperature in cold or windy conditions

Possible Causes
P-setting too low for ambient conditions, Excessive wind or cold affecting heat retention, Thin or missing gasket on lid
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Adjustments are made at the control panel; avoid touching hot surfaces.
- Understand P-setting: On some Char‑Griller controllers, P1–P7 adjust pellet feed timing. Lower numbers feed fewer pellets.
- Increase feed rate: If the grill is not reaching temperature, increase the P-setting (e.g., from P1 to P3 or P4) according to the manual to allow more pellets per cycle.
- Shield from wind: Move the grill to a more sheltered location or use a windbreak to reduce heat loss.
- Check lid seal: Inspect the lid gasket (if equipped) and body seams for gaps. Install or replace high-temperature gasket material if heat is visibly escaping.
