P7
Char-Griller
High Feed Rate / Extended Smolder Program Setting
Display shows P7 and grill produces very heavy smoke and fluctuating temperatures

Possible Causes
P-setting too high for current temperature setting, Excessive pellet feed causing smoldering, Poor airflow from dirty fan or vents
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Do not inhale heavy smoke directly. Keep the lid closed as much as possible.
- Reduce P-setting: Lower the P-setting (e.g., from P7 to P3–P4) to reduce pellet feed intervals and stabilize combustion.
- Clean fire pot and vents: After the grill cools, remove ash from the fire pot and ensure all air inlets and exhaust vents are clear.
- Monitor temperature: After adjustment, run the grill at a moderate setpoint (e.g., 250–275°F) and watch for more stable readings.
