Safety first: Unplug the grill before accessing the fan or control box. Ensure the grill is cool.

• Step 1 – Locate combustion fan: On most Cuisinart pellet grills, the combustion fan is mounted inside the lower cabinet or behind a side panel, connected to the fire pot via an air channel.
• Step 2 – Inspect for obstructions: Remove the access panel and visually inspect the fan blades. Clear any debris, insects, or grease buildup that may be blocking rotation. Spin the fan by hand; it should turn freely without grinding.
• Step 3 – Check wiring: Trace the fan wires from the motor to the control board. Ensure the connector is fully seated and that there are no cuts, melted insulation, or pinched sections.
• Step 4 – Functional test: With the grill reassembled enough for safe operation, plug it in and briefly start an ignition cycle while observing the fan (keep fingers and tools clear). If the fan does not start but the controller calls for it, the fan motor is likely failed.
• Step 5 – Replace fan if necessary: Unplug the grill again, remove the mounting screws holding the fan, and install a compatible Cuisinart combustion fan assembly. Reconnect wiring, ensuring correct polarity if applicable.
• Step 6 – Verify operation: Reinstall panels, plug in the grill, and start a cook cycle. Confirm that the fan runs continuously during ignition and that Er7 is cleared.
