Possible Causes

Moisture intrusion into control panel, Failed membrane keypad, Loose ribbon cable between display and main board, Control board failure

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Unplug the grill before removing the control panel. Do not work on electronics in wet conditions.

  • Step 1 – Dry the control area: If the grill was exposed to heavy rain, allow the control panel to dry for several hours. You can remove the controller and gently dry the rear side with a soft cloth; do not use direct heat.
  • Step 2 – Inspect keypad and display: Look for cracks in the display lens or keypad overlay that could allow water in. If the overlay is damaged, replacement of the control panel is recommended.
  • Step 3 – Check internal connections: Remove the controller mounting screws and carefully pull the panel forward. Inspect the ribbon cable or plug connecting the display/keypad to the main control board. Reseat all connectors firmly.
  • Step 4 – Power test: Plug the grill back in and test each button. If some or all keys remain unresponsive, the keypad or control board is likely defective.
  • Step 5 – Replace control panel assembly: Order a compatible Cuisinart control panel or main control board assembly for your model. Transfer wiring one connector at a time from the old board to the new to avoid miswiring. Reinstall the panel and test operation.
