Possible Causes
Combustion fan running too fast, Fire pot overfilled with ash, Exhaust restriction causing turbulence, Very soft pellets producing extra ash
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off and unplug the grill, and allow it to cool before cleaning ash.
- Step 1 – Clean fire pot and barrel: Remove grates, drip tray, and heat baffle. Vacuum ash from the fire pot and bottom of the barrel.
- Step 2 – Check exhaust: Ensure the chimney and exhaust ports are clear and the cap is adjusted correctly.
- Step 3 – Use better pellets: Switch to a higher‑quality pellet brand that produces less ash.
- Step 4 – Inspect fan control: If the fan seems excessively strong or runs at full speed constantly, the control board may be overdriving it and could require replacement.
