Possible Causes
Tripped GFCI outlet, Blown internal fuse on control board, Damaged power cord, Loose power connector inside control box
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Always unplug the grill before opening the control box. Do not bypass safety devices or use damaged cords.
- Step 1 – Check outlet: Plug a lamp or other appliance into the same outlet to confirm it has power. Reset any tripped GFCI or breaker.
- Step 2 – Inspect power cord: Examine the Cuisinart grill’s power cord for cuts, crushed sections, or melted insulation. Replace the cord if damaged.
- Step 3 – Verify control board connection: Remove the controller mounting screws and gently pull it forward. Confirm the main AC input connector is fully seated on the control board.
- Step 4 – Check internal fuse: Many Cuisinart control boards include a small fuse near the AC input. With the grill unplugged, inspect the fuse; if blown, replace only with the same type and rating. If it blows again immediately, a deeper electrical fault exists and a technician should inspect the unit.
- Step 5 – Replace control board if necessary: If the outlet and cord are good and the fuse is intact but the board remains dead, replace the control board with a compatible Cuisinart part.
