Display shows Er05; grill overshoots set temperature and then shuts down.

Possible Causes
Shorted temperature probe wiring, Probe lead pinched against metal, Moisture inside sensor connector, Failed RTD causing high reading
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn OFF and unplug the grill. Allow it to cool.
- Visual inspection: Locate the grill temperature sensor and follow its cable to the control panel. Look for spots where the cable may be pinched, cut, or melted against the cook chamber wall or lid.
- Check connector for moisture: Remove the control panel and inspect the sensor connector. If there is condensation, grease, or water, dry the connector thoroughly and clean with electrical contact cleaner. Let it dry completely before reconnecting.
- Test resistance: With the sensor unplugged from the board, measure resistance across the leads. A reading near 0 Ω indicates a short. Flex the cable gently while measuring; if the reading jumps, the cable is internally damaged.
- Correct routing: Reroute the sensor cable away from sharp edges and hot surfaces. Use high-temperature cable ties or clips to secure it.
- Replace the sensor: If the probe is shorted or unstable, install a new Enders RTD temperature probe following the original mounting location and routing.
If a new sensor does not resolve Er05, the control board's temperature input may be shorted internally and require replacement.
