Inspect control panel face: Check for cracks, warping, or signs of water or grease intrusion around the display and buttons.
Remove control panel: Unscrew the panel and gently pull it forward. Locate the ribbon cable or connector linking the keypad/encoder to the main control board.
Reseat connectors: Disconnect the ribbon cable, inspect for corrosion or bent pins, then reconnect firmly. Ensure the cable is not pinched when reinstalling the panel.
Dry moisture: If there is visible condensation or grease, carefully wipe with a lint-free cloth and allow the panel to air dry completely. Do not use excessive heat.
Test operation: Reassemble the panel, plug in the grill, and test all buttons and the dial. If certain keys still do not respond, the keypad or encoder is likely defective.
Replace control panel: Install a new Enders control panel / user interface board compatible with your model, transferring any mounting hardware and seals.

Persistent Er08 after panel replacement may indicate a fault on the main control board's keypad interface circuitry.
