Safety first: Turn OFF and unplug the grill before working near moving auger parts.

• Locate hopper switch: Identify the safety switch or magnetic sensor mounted near the hopper lid.
• Check alignment: Ensure the magnet or actuator on the lid aligns directly with the sensor when the lid is closed. Adjust mounting screws if needed.
• Inspect wiring: Follow the switch wires to the control board, checking for damage or loose connectors.
• Test switch: With the grill unplugged, disconnect the switch and test continuity while opening and closing the lid. Replace if readings do not change.
• Replace switch: Install a new Enders hopper lid safety switch or reed sensor, ensuring proper alignment and secure mounting.

After repair, verify that the grill stops auger operation when the hopper lid is open (if designed to do so) and that Er16 no longer appears during normal use.
