Possible Causes
Dry or worn auger bushings, Foreign object in auger tube, Bent auger shaft, Misaligned auger motor mount
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn OFF, unplug the grill, and empty the hopper before working on the auger.
- Inspect hopper: Look for screws, stones, or other foreign objects mixed with pellets. Remove any debris.
- Access auger assembly: Remove the rear or side panel to expose the auger motor and tube. Disconnect the motor and slide the auger out.
- Check for damage: Inspect the auger flighting for bends or scoring. Check bushings or bearings at each end for wear.
- Lubricate bushings: If bushings are dry but not worn out, apply a small amount of high-temperature, food-safe lubricant to the bearing surfaces (avoid getting lubricant where it can contact pellets).
- Replace worn parts: Install a new Enders auger shaft and/or auger bushing kit if components are excessively worn or bent.
