How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the grill and empty the hopper before working on the auger system.
- Empty and clean hopper: Remove all pellets and vacuum out dust and debris.
- Remove auger motor: Access the auger motor from the side or rear, remove mounting bolts, and slide the motor off the shaft.
- Extract auger: Pull the auger out of the tube. Inspect for bent sections or foreign objects.
- Clear tube: Use a wooden dowel or brush to remove compacted pellets and clean the tube interior.
- Inspect gearbox: Rotate the motor shaft by hand. If rough, noisy, or loose, replace the auger motor assembly with an OEM GMG unit.
