Possible Causes
Weak or failing 12V power supply (for DC models), Undersized extension cord causing voltage drop, Loose AC power connection, Internal power converter failure on control board
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect the grill from power before inspecting wiring. Do not bypass fuses or safety devices.
- Check outlet: Plug the grill directly into a known-good grounded outlet. Avoid long or thin extension cords that can cause voltage drop.
- Inspect power cord: Examine the GMG power cord for cuts, burns, or loose prongs. Replace if damaged.
- Measure voltage: Use a multimeter to verify proper AC voltage at the outlet and at the control board input terminals.
- Check 12V supply (if applicable): On DC-powered GMG models, test the 12V output from the power supply module to the control board. If low or unstable, replace the power supply with an OEM Green Mountain Grills power adapter.
- Inspect internal fuses: Some boards have onboard fuses. Replace only with the same rating if blown, and investigate for shorts before powering up again.
