Possible Causes
Empty pellet hopper, Pellet bridge preventing feed, Auger jammed with sawdust, Auger motor not turning
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn the grill off and unplug it before reaching into the hopper or auger area.
- Refill hopper: If the hopper is empty, fill with fresh, dry pellets and restart the grill following the GMG startup procedure.
- Break pellet bridge: If pellets are present but not feeding, stir the pellets with a clean, dry tool to break any bridging or clumping.
- Check auger operation: With the grill cool, start it and look into the firepot to see if pellets are dropping. If not, inspect the auger motor and shaft for jams or failure.
- Clean hopper and auger: Empty the hopper, vacuum out sawdust, and clear the auger tube if packed with fines. Excess dust can cause feed issues.
