Possible Causes
Meat probe not fully plugged into jack, Damaged meat probe cable, Corroded probe jack on controller, Failed meat probe sensor
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the grill before cleaning the probe jack or opening the controller.
- Check connection: Ensure the GMG meat probe is fully inserted into the probe jack on the controller.
- Inspect cable: Look for cuts, kinks, or melted sections of the probe cable. Replace if damaged.
- Clean jack: Use a cotton swab and a small amount of electrical contact cleaner to clean the probe jack on the controller.
- Test with another probe: If available, plug in a known-good GMG meat probe. If the error clears, the original probe is faulty.
- Replace controller: If multiple good probes fail to read and the jack is clean, the probe input circuit on the control board may be bad and the board should be replaced.
