Possible Causes
RTD probe reading out of range, Loose RTD connector, Control board ADC failure, RTD wire damaged by heat
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the grill before accessing the controller or RTD wiring.
- Inspect RTD probe: Check that the probe is clean, not coated in heavy grease, and not bent or touching metal surfaces.
- Check wiring: Ensure the RTD cable is intact and not melted where it passes through the grill wall.
- Reconnect RTD: Unplug and firmly replug the RTD connector on the control board.
- Compare temperatures: Use an external grill thermometer to compare readings. If the GMG display is far off, replace the RTD probe.
- Replace control board: If a new RTD does not resolve the error, the temperature input circuit on the board may be faulty and the board should be replaced.
