Possible Causes

Incorrect P‑setting for ambient conditions, User‑adjusted feed rate too high or too low, Control board firmware mismatch, RTD probe placement affected by wind

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Adjustments are made from the control panel; no internal access is required. Keep hands away from hot surfaces while the grill is running.

  • Step 1 – Restore default P‑setting: Refer to your Landmann manual and reset the P‑setting (or feed program) to the factory default (often P2 or P4). This stabilizes pellet feed timing.
  • Step 2 – Account for weather: In cold or windy conditions, a slightly lower P‑setting (faster feed) may be needed. In hot weather, a higher P‑setting (slower feed) can prevent overshoot. Adjust one step at a time and test.
  • Step 3 – Shield from wind: Position the grill so that strong wind does not blow directly into the exhaust or across the RTD probe. Use a windbreak if necessary.
  • Step 4 – Verify probe cleanliness: Clean the RTD probe to ensure accurate readings.
  • Step 5 – Firmware check: If your model supports firmware updates and you experience erratic P‑code behavior, consult Landmann support for the latest firmware or control board replacement.
